Librarian for Instruction and Engagement
he William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan seeks an energetic, creative, culturally competent, and service-oriented library professional to develop and implement a program of instruction, engagement, and exhibits using the holdings and other resources of the Clements Library that will sustain and deepen the library’s engagement with the teaching, research, and community engagement mission of the university. This position will work closely with faculty across the University to integrate Clements collections in their courses and research projects, including developing new relationships and enhancing existing partnerships. The incumbent will work to increase our capacity to support multiple modes of instruction from a wide range of schools and departments; oversee and cultivate our fellowship program for visiting scholars; participate in developing strategies to promote the use of Clements Library materials in exhibits, publications, and other media; and raise awareness of the Clements Library as a unique educational resource at the University of Michigan for users from around the world. The William L. Clements Library is one of the country's strongest collections of pre-1900 Americana, with four collecting areas: manuscripts, printed books and periodicals, maps, and graphic arts. This position is a permanent, full-time position with full University of Michigan benefits.
