The successful candidate will be a member of the School of Public Policy and Administration, with core responsibilities for research, supervision, teaching and the ongoing program development in the School's graduate programs in Indigenous Policy and Administration. There may also be an opportunity for a 0% cross-appointment in the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies. About the Academic Unit: The School is a recognized centre of academic excellence in public policy and management. It is the largest and oldest school of its kind in Canada and is well known internationally, offering a PhD Public Policy, Master of Public Policy and Administration, Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership, a joint MA in Sustainable Energy Policy, the graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Program Evaluation, and the graduate Diploma in Indigenous Policy and Administration. The School's multidisciplinary faculty members are engaged in diverse research and teaching initiatives, and are regularly called upon for their expertise by government departments, NGOs and international agencies. More information on the IPA is available at and on the School at Qualifications: Candidates require a PhD in a relevant discipline by July 1, 2019 or soon thereafter. They must also demonstrate promise of excellence in research and teaching related to Indigenous policy and administration. Priority will be given to candidates with active research programs and teaching competencies that reflect the diversity of First Nation, Metis and Inuit circumstances in Canada, and who have developed expertise in models of Indigenous governance, intergovernmental affairs, and economic and community development. A variety of methodological approaches is welcome and encouraged. Experience living in an Indigenous setting or working with Indigenous organizations and governments would be an asset. Persons who identify as Indigenous are particularly invited to apply. Application Instructions: Applications should include a cover letter explaining the applicant's interest in the School and the Indigenous Policy and Administration program, as well as a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interest, a teaching portfolio with a statement of teaching philosophy and evidence of effectiveness, and one or more research papers or publications to serve as writing samples.
