The Department of History at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenure–stream assistant professorship in colonial North American history beginning September 1, 2020.  We welcome scholars of any of the varied communities, cultures, and empires that shaped early North America, including candidates who embrace Atlantic, continental, or global perspectives.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach and advise both undergraduate and graduate students as well as pursue an outstanding research agenda.
