Position: Humanities Instructor
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience on Faculty Salary Scale

Job Duties:
Individual will work in the Department of Humanities under the supervision of Chairperson. Individual will teach a variety of composition, literature, grammar & linguistics and/or communications courses.

Duties include:

1. Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
2. Supervise part time instructors.
3. Coordinate and track Holistic Scoring.
4. Serve on one of the college wide committees.
5. Assist with curriculum development including incorporation of Lakota Perspective in all courses.
6. Serve as an academic advisor to students.
7. Participate in department development.
8. Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities as required by supervisor.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in English, Literature, or a related field.; Ph.D. preferred.
2. College level teaching experience preferred; preferably with Indian college students.
3. Must be able to teach courses in English composition and in literature
4. Grant writing is an asset.
5. Research ability preferred.
6. Experience in curriculum development preferred.
7. Must take and pass alcohol/drug screening test and background check.
8. Knowledge of Lakota history, culture, philosophy and language.
9. Must be computer literate, possess strong oral and written communication skills.
