Job Description

The Native American Studies Department at The University of Montana, Missoula invites part-time adjunct faculty applications for an instructor of Blackfoot Language for the 2015-2016 academic year (starting August 31, 2015). UM, the College of Humanities and Sciences and the Department embrace diversity as a core value. Applications from persons with diverse backgrounds are especially welcome.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native Blackfoot language fluency
  • Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree preferred) in a field related to Native American Studies, Blackfeet studies, or language instruction
  • Classroom teaching experience (all levels considered but post-secondary preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class seven certification
  • Blackfoot language teaching experience
