The Department of Government and International Affairs (GIA) at the University of South Florida invites applicants for a 9-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning on August 7, 2015.
A Ph.D. in Political Science (or related field) from an accredited institution with a specialization in political theory is required for the position. Applications from ABDs will be considered, but the degree must be conferred by appointment start date. The teaching load is four courses per year. Candidates must be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate teaching effectiveness and a promising research agenda. The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research specialty is in Non-Western, comparative, indigenous, or subaltern political theory. We seek faculty who can contribute to the department’s developing global focus.
Salary is negotiable. Review of applications will begin on October 31, 2014 and will continue until the position is filled.
